A unique Mid-Autumn garden event occurred on Oct 6 during light rain, bringing together local residents and out-of-town visitors in a joyful and warm setting. The activity was held on East Chengzhong Road in Qingyuan town, Yizhou district.
On Xiaonanmen and Xiaobeimen Streets, residents displayed carefully prepared moon-worship offerings that dazzled visitors.
Homemade mooncakes – decorated with detailed patterns of flowers, birds, insects, and fish – resembled exquisite artworks. Vibrant platters made from pomegranates, pomelos, starfruits, apples, bananas, and assorted vegetables looked like lively paintings.
As night fell and lanterns lit up, attendees wandered the streets, tasted special foods and soaked in the charm of traditional culture.
"In Yizhou, seeing lanterns and moon offerings everywhere makes me feel the whole society is like a big family. This experience is unforgettable," shared Ms Liao, a tourist from Beihai.
