Sugar tangerines from Hechi township hit market

The sugar tangerines in Sannong Yao ethnic township, Donglan county of Hechi, are ready for harvest, attracting many merchants and tourists.

As of now, Sannong Yao ethnic township has planted a total of 320 mu (21 hectares) of sugar tangerines. This year, the expected yield is 570 metric tons, with the main markets being Jiangxi, Hunan, Sichuan, and Henan provinces, generating an income of over 1.5 million yuan ($204,613). 

The sugar tangerine industry has provided employment opportunities for 36 residents, increasing their annual income by 8,000 to 12,000 yuan per person.

In recent years, the Sannong Yao ethnic township has established a special industry demonstration base. This approach encourages local entrepreneurs to set up family farms and specialized cooperatives, integrating the special industry with cultural tourism and increasing local incomes.
