Tian'e county leads China in Chinese fir production
The growth indicators of the high-yield experimental demonstration forest of Chinese fir in Tian'e county, Hechi, exceeded the standard of fast-growing and high-yielding Chinese fir forests in Guangxi by 40 percent, ranking first in Guangxi and leading the nation in the production of Chinese fir.
The news was announced on Dec 30 based on field reconnaissance and the argumentation by Chen Daixi, chairman of the Guangxi Forestry Society.
Tian'e county boasts a forest coverage rate of 79.97 percent. Over the years, the county has remained dedicated to the high-quality development of the forestry economy, supporting over 50,000 households in planting 1.31 million mu (87,233 hectares) of Chinese fir through robust policy assistance.
In March 2024, Luo Yongji, a resident of Yanlai village, Xiangyang town, sold 26 mu (1.73 hectares) of Chinese fir, earning an income of 196,000 yuan ($26,862.93). He sold another 111 mu (7.4 hectares) in December 2024, bringing in 829,000 yuan, significantly improving his quality of life.
By selecting high-quality seeds and using compound fertilizer for Chinese fir, citizens are able to create better lives for themselves, showcasing the high-quality development of the forestry economy in Tian'e county.
