From Nov 11 to 13, Fengshan county of Hechi commemorated the 40th anniversary of Jiangzhou, Pingle, and Jinya Yao townships with vibrant celebrations.

Ethnic officials and residents gathered to showcase unity and cultural richness through captivating performances, traditional crafts, and exhibitions of unique agricultural and cultural products. The anniversary highlighted the remarkable journey of these Yao townships under Party leadership, showcasing their cultural, social and economic transformations.

Economic progress has been powered by the development of a diverse array of industries, including tea oil, walnuts, and silkworm farming. Initiatives such as the courtyard economy and ethnic handicrafts have boosted incomes and created sustainable livelihoods. Jinya's herbal medicine bases and Jiangzhou's eco-tourism are prime examples of this growth.

Efforts to preserve intangible cultural heritage, such as Yao traditional attire and customs, have strengthened cultural pride and unity among ethnic groups. Various festivals, including folk song competitions, further enriched the cultural exchange.

The townships have also made strides in social governance, enhancing education, healthcare, and public safety through innovative initiatives and community collaboration. Meanwhile, integrating culture and tourism and introducing ICH experience tours have stimulated local consumption and vitalized the economy.
