2 scenic areas in Hechi to be rated as national 4A-level
On Nov 9, the Guangxi Culture and Tourism Department announced the list of candidates to become 2023 National 4A-level tourist attractions, which included two units from Hechi, namely Yaowangtianxia Scenic Area and Longxiang Gaifengxing Ecotourism Scenic Area.
Located in Wangshang village, Lihu Yao ethnic towns, Nandan county, the Yaowangtianxia Area consists of attractions such as Geyasigu, Dongtian Shengjing, Yaowang village, and the Yao Ancient Tomb Group. It showcases the history, culture, and stories of the Yao ethnic group, with a focus on presenting the daily life and folk culture of the Baiku Yao people in Nandan county.
The main attraction of the scenic area is Yaowang village. During major festivals, Baiku Yao people gather here, playing bronze drums, blowing cow horns, singing, and dancing, creating a vibrant atmosphere.

The Longxiang Gaifengxing Ecotourism Scenic Area is located in Chehe town, Nandan county, formerly an abandoned mining area.
As you enter the scenic area, you will be greeted by a mountain covered with maple trees in vibrant autumn colors and an intertwining forest of ginkgo trees. In addition, the blooming pink muhly grass creates a stunning "wave" effect, resembling a colorful oil painting.
The scenic area has become a popular destination, offering a mix of tourist sightseeing, summer retreats, healthy living, folk customs, and mining cultural education. It serves as a model for the integration of tourism and environmental governance, not only in Guangxi but also nationwide.
