According to the recent results released by the National Forestry and Grassland Administration, Donglan Pohao Lake in Donglan county, Hechi, has been listed as one of the 2020 National Wetland Park pilot projects.

There are 61 pilot national wetland parks across the country that have made the list. In addition to Donglan Pohao Lake National Wetland Park, two parks in Hechi, Du'an Chengjiang National Wetland Park and Nandan Laxi National Wetland Park, have received national acceptance before.

Donglan Pohao Lake National Wetland Park was approved by the National Forestry and Grassland Administration to carry out pilot construction in December 2014. It covers the reservoir area of Pohao Lake, the lower reaches of Pohao River, the land between the west bank of Pohao Lake and the east bank of Hongshui River, and the mountainous area within the first water catchment area of Shishan in the south of Pohao Lake. The total area is 549.4 hectares, including 289.4 hectares of wetland area, 260 hectares of water area, and a total construction investment of 289 million yuan ($41 million).

By the end of 2020, most of the project had been completed. The park currently serves as a boutique scenic spot and one of the green tourism destinations in Donglan county, and has enhanced the image of Donglan's ecological and health tourism.
