More than 50 workers were busy picking, screening, packing, and then carrying oranges at Lingxin Family Farm, Huashan village, Liuya township, Dahua Yao autonomous county on Dec 15. More than 10,000 kilograms of oranges were transported to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) on that day.

Shenzhen Tianhui Fruit Products, a large fruit wholesale enterprise in Shenzhen, sent people to stay in Dahua from December this year to April next year to purchase and package fruit, and then send the fruit to Shenzhen, Hong Kong and Malaysia to sell.

Qin Mingzhong, a purchaser in the company, said, "Dahua oranges are very popular in Shenzhen because of their good taste and high sugar. This year, we plan to purchase more than 500,000 kg of oranges at Lingxin Family Farm."

He Chengyi, the person in charge of Lingxin Family Farm, said, "The farm has a planting area of 627 mu (41.8 hectares), with a total investment of about 7 million yuan ($1 million). This year, the total output is about 900,000 kg, with an estimated sales income of 4.5 million yuan."

In recent years, the county has seized the opportunity to further develop Shenzhen-Dahua cooperation. It promoted its ecological agricultural products, and promoted supplying more fruit from Dahua to Shenzhen, thus expanding the consumer market in the GBA, as well as improving local cooperatives, family farms and farmers' income.
