Lanyang folk culture in Donglan culture

Lanyang village, Changjiang town, Donglan county was the seat of the Donglan Tusi, a system of appointing national minority hereditary headmen in ancient China, as well as the hometown of Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) Tusi Wei Huchen and his soldiers.

In the ancient village, hundred-year-old trees are shady with green leaves and the spring water from Lanyang Spring passes through the village. During traditional festivals, Changjiang town will organize folk song competitions and other activities here. Singers from Donglan county, Bama Yao autonomous county, Fengshan county, and Nandan county gather here to hold song competitions, also attracting many tourists. Lanyang Spring was included in the list of historic buildings in Donglan county, Hechi in 2021.

In addition to folk songs, bronze drum is also a characteristic item of Lanyang Zhuang people's culture. Every year at the Sanyesan Festival, the villagers of Lanyang village will hold an ancient bronze drum performance. Bronze drums have become an important tool to maintain the local folk culture.

When visiting the ancient Lanyang village, tourists can listen to the splendid stories of the Tusi, taste sweet Lanyang spring water, as well as enjoy melodious folk songs and bronze drums.
