Hechi starts, completes 9 projects with $496m investment

The city of Hechi held a concentrated opening and completion ceremony for the major projects in the fourth quarter of 2021 on Oct 9. There are nine projects in the city starting or completing construction simultaneously with a total investment of 3.2 billion yuan ($496 million).

Among the projects, there are eight newly started projects with a total investment of 2.2 billion yuan including Guangxi Yusheng Germanium Industry High-tech's zinc polymetallic ore comprehensive recovery project (Phase II). The fire station project, the comprehensive cultural service center project, and the Jiangnan Sewage Treatment Plant of Daren Industrial Park were also started on the same day.

Guangxi Yusheng Germanium Industry High-tech's zinc polymetallic ore comprehensive recovery project (Phase I) completed its construction on the same day.

The planned investment of the project is 978 million yuan. The main goal of the project is to produce 100,000 metric tons of zinc ingots per year, 50 tons of germanium, sulfur, silver, indium and other products as well as comprehensive recovery of copper, lead, cadmium and other valuable metals.

After reaching production capacity, it will become the largest germanium deep processing base in China with an annual output value of 3 billion yuan and it is expected to contribute more than 10 percent to the city's industrial economic growth.
