The plaque unveiling ceremony for Hechi Open University was held on the former site of the Hechi branch of Guangxi Open University on Sept 29.

The Hechi branch of Guangxi Open University, first established in 1979, has made full use of the modern information technologies to provide various kinds of educational services. It has made great contributions to narrowing the education gap and promoting fair education.

Hechi Open University will devote efforts to the integrated development of higher education, vocational education and adult education, and promote the application of a new generation of information technologies in education such as artificial intelligence.

It will strive to offer more educational opportunities to people in grassroots, rural and remote areas to cultivate more high-level applied talents for local socio-economic development.
