Hechi starts, completes 28 projects with $616m investment

The city of Hechi held a concentrated opening and completion ceremony for the major projects in the third quarter of 2021 on Sept 17. There are 28 projects in the city starting or completing construction simultaneously with a total investment of 3.98 billion yuan ($616 million).
Among the projects, there are 14 newly started projects with a total investment of 2.81 billion yuan, and 14 completed projects with a total investment of 1.17 billion yuan, which mainly cover fields of emerging industries, cultural tourism, infrastructure, social and people’s livelihoods, and environmental protection.
The opening and completion ceremony sets its main venues in the Hechi Yizhou Cocoon and Silk Industrial Park, which is an important project for the concentrated construction projects in Hechi. Covering a total area of 232 hectares, there are 17 cocoon and silk processing enterprises above designated size in the park with a total output value of 1.5 billion yuan.
Next on the agenda for the industrial park is to strengthen investment promotion, make full use of opportunities such as the China-ASEAN Expo and the China Cocoon and Silk Conference to achieve cooperation with a group of strong domestic and foreign companies. By the end of the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25), the park will build 150,000 square meters of standard workshops, complete infrastructure investment of 1.5 billion yuan, and strive to achieve a total industrial output value of 50 billion yuan in the cocoon and silk industry.
