Luocheng Mulam autonomous county is located in the northeast of Hechi city and is the only Mulam autonomous county in China. Covering an area of 2,658 square kilometers, the population of its permanent residents is 272,672.

Among the local population are 258,100 people from different ethnic groups, including Mulam, Zhuang, Yao, Miao and Dong. Among them are 124,700 from the Mulam ethnic group.

With its striking karst topography, Luocheng is covered by dense mountains, ravines and valleys, providing plenty of scenic areas for tourists to visit. The county has a 3A-level scenic spot - Chenglong Lake Park, three 2A-level scenic spots, namely Wuyang River, Jianjiang River and Qingming Mountain, and a number of key rural tourist areas.

It is also known throughout China for its wild downy grapes. Wild downy grape wine, milk wine, tea, mushroom, black fungus, and beef strips are just some of its most famous specialties.
