More than 300 mountain bikers raced through the streets of Donglan county, Hechi, on Oct 2 for a competition forming part of the 2017 Donglan Chinese Chestnut Carnival.

Setting off from Hongshuihe Bridge, the cyclists crossed the Hongshui River, riding into Changle town, through Pohaohu National Wetland Park, passing General Qin Shimian's former residence, before returning to Changle town via Ding'an village.

After an hour's fierce competition, Tan Xiaozhong, Li Yueji, Rong Shengguang took the top three spots in the men's, women's, and middle-aged groups respectively.

"It is the third time that I've taken part in the competition. Every time the gorgeous natural scenery of Donglan and enthusiasm of local residents made me feel excited," said Li, affirming she would take part again next year.

Hosted by the local Party committee and government, the Donglan Chinese Chestnut Carnival is held to celebrate the harvest and promote the agricultural products of the county.
