Hechi scenic spots awarded 4A
A couple of tourist attractions in Hechi, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region were listed as 4A scenic spots on Dec 23. The honorable titles are awarded according to various indexes such as the environment, accommodation and entertainment equipment.
Lalang Scenic Spot, located next to Lalang forest, covers an area of 3,000 mu (200 hectares). The area has unique natural resources and a well-preserved environment. It boasts an ideal climate for tourism all the year round, and is often referred to as the pearl next to the Longjiang River.

Lalang is home to a whole host of tourism facilities, such as a forest hotel resort, pool, artificial lake, restaurant, and public square. Fishing and barbecuing are popular outdoor activities.
Huaiyuan, an ancient town with over 1,300 years of history, is home to historic sites, such as an ancient commercial hall, a wharf, and a temple.

The local government has invested 29 million yuan ($4.23 million), to renovate obsolete buildings and preserve ancient architecture.
Huaiyuan regularly holds cultural events such as folk arts festivals and folk song competitions.
The newly-awarded scenic spots are expecting a peak in visitors over the comping Spring Festival.
