Guangxi will cancel all the secondary road toll stations established for loan refunding after Jan 1 next year, according to a document released by the Guangxi government on Dec 21.

Eight of Hechi's secondary road toll stations, including the Xia'ao Toll Station, the Bama Toll Station, the Donglan Toll Station and the Luocheng Toll Station, will stop charging next year, starting a new era for Hechi's road system development and local drivers.

China implemented highway charging for loan refunding in 1988. The Datang Toll Station on the secondary road from Nanning to Beihai in 1990 was Guangxi's first secondary road toll.

As road construction developed, the country at the end of 2008 targeted cancellation of the charging policy.

First-class and operating highway toll stations are not subject to the cancellation.
