Yizhou held a tourism promotion activity in Yulin on July 9, Xinhua Net reported.

A total of 20 tourism enterprises from Yizhou and Yulin, as well as 12 mainstream media organizations took part in the activity.

Bu Shifang, deputy director of Yulin municipal tourism development committee, expressed warm welcome to Yizhou tourism promotion group. Yang Xiong, deputy director of Hechi municipal tourism development committee, said that Yulin city is one of Yizhou's main target markets in tourism. The two are connected with each other through culture and longstanding friendship. He hoped the activity could help promote the two cities' communication and cooperation in the fields of tourism, culture and investment.

Seven Yizhou tourism enterprises publicized their scenic spots during the promotion activity. The city also promoted its touristic attractions via a billboard video and by displaying characteristic folk customs and culture.

The tourism promotion in Yulin is the second roadshow of Yizhou following the one in Liuzhou on June 30. Yizhou will innovate and carry out more promotion activities to enhance the popularity of Liu Sanjie tourism brand and create a favorable public opinion appeal to its attractions.

Yizhou, a county-level city in Hechi, Southwest China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, is a cultural city with a history of over 2,100 years. As the hometown of the singer Liu Sanjie and the birthplace of China's first villagers' committee, Yizhou boasts beautiful scenery, characteristic folk culture and abundant tourism resources. It is also the biggest silkworm producing county nationwide and constitutes Guangxi's cocoon silk recycling economic demonstration base.

Yizhou was included in the first 20 Guangxi characteristic tourism counties in 2013. It has ushered unprecedented development opportunities in tourism in recent years. It won the title of "The most attractive festival city" and "China's most beautiful cultural ecological tourism city" in 2014 and "Chinese longevity village" and "Chinese top 10 ecology and leisure tourism city" in 2015. Yizhou received a total of 1.1 million tourists in the first half of 2015, generating tourism revenues of 1.3 billion yuan ($209.4 million).
