Hechi to hold fifth sports meet

Hechi's fifth sports meet will be held in Nandan county from Sept 20 to 24, according to a mobilization meeting on May 22.

The sports meet will include three competitive events for teenagers (basketball, table tennis and track and field) and five for adults (basketball, football, balloon volleyball, table tennis and badminton).

People who want to participate in the sports meet need to form groups within counties and districts. The total number of participants is expected to be 1,591 and can be adjusted depending on the actual number.

According to the mobilization meeting, the sports meet is just like Hechi's "Olympic Games". It will enhance the local people's athletic skills, promote exercise and reinforce cohesive force and cultural competitiveness.

Each county and district should pay high attention to the preparatory work and organize a high quality team. The organizing committee and Nandan county are required to set clear objectives and strengthen publicity to create a thick sport atmosphere.
