The 2025 China-ASEAN Confucius Culture Week kicked off in Nanning, South China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, on Sept 28, the 2,576th birthday of renowned Chinese philosopher Confucius.

The event, running until Oct 8, aims to further promote cultural exchanges between China and ASEAN countries while preserving and promoting the rich heritage of traditional Chinese culture.
A grand ceremony was held in celebration of the anniversary, adhering strictly to ancient rites such as the offering of sacrifices, presentation of libations, laying of floral tributes, and reading of ceremonial texts.

Following the ceremony, a themed concert was held, with the elegant and melodious sounds of traditional instruments like the bianzhong (bronze bells) and guqin (ancient zither), along with the performers' excellent presentations, captivating the audience. Many citizens were ptrsent at the ceremony to experience the profound cultural atmosphere.
The China-ASEAN Confucius Culture Week includes a variety of events such as a drum performance, guqin concerts, lion dance competitions, traditional games, a Mid-Autumn moon worship ceremony, lantern riddle corridor, night market, Confucius birthday calligraphy exhibition, and photography competition exhibition at the Confucius Temple.

Using the Confucius Culture Week as a bridge, these activities aim to deepen cultural exchanges and interactions with ASEAN countries, expand the scope of collaboration, and promote the international dissemination and innovative development of Confucian culture in the new era, injecting cultural vitality into the construction of a closer China-ASEAN community with a shared future.
