A new Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership route connecting Beibu Gulf Port, Vietnam, and Singapore was inaugurated recently. Container ship HAIAN VIEW departed Beibu Gulf Port carrying Liuzhou-made construction machinery destined for Vietnam and Singapore, announced Guangxi Beibu Gulf Port Group on Sept 2.
Operated by Ocean Network Express (ONE), this weekly service stops at Qinzhou Port (Guangxi), Vietnam's Haiphong and Cai Mep ports, and Singapore, before returning to Qinzhou.
It mainly transports white cardboard, auto parts, glass, and plywood, while also importing zinc oxide, frozen seafood, and rapeseed meal.
The route strengthens connectivity with Vietnamese ports. Through Beibu Gulf's rail-sea intermodal system, goods from western China can quickly reach Singapore for transshipment to India, Europe, and the United States, reducing logistics costs and increasing efficiency.
Rail-sea intermodal services and facilitation policies reduce carbon emissions by 30 percent compared to road transport, while customs clearance is accelerated by 10-20 percent.
The port group intends to strengthen shipping partnerships, enhance route efficiency, and connect the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor with ASEAN industrial networks.
