A 15-day training program on railway and rail transit standardization and connectivity between China (Guangxi) and ASEAN concluded in Nanning on July 7.
One participant, a Malaysian rail project professional, shared his hope for a future high-speed rail connecting Kuala Lumpur to Kunming via Bangkok and Vientiane. Having witnessed China's rapid advancements in rail technology through the Malaysia-China East Coast Rail Link project, set to operate in 2027, he said that the training deepened his understanding of China's rail transit standardization, operational best practices, and AI applications.
Participants from eight ASEAN countries, including Thailand, gained knowledge into rail transit standardization, operational best practices, and AI integration. Given China's remarkable achievements in rail technology and the establishment of its own standard system, and ongoing cooperation with multiple ASEAN countries, this training, hosted by China's Ministry of Science and Technology, is expected to further strengthen China-ASEAN cooperation in rail transit standards.
