The Xunjiang Bridge, a critical section of the Cangwu-Rongxian Expressway in Guangxi, achieved a major milestone as its final steel box girder was installed on April 10, marking the completion of its main structure.

The bridge is about to enter its deck-paving phase and is expected to open to traffic by the end of this year.

Spanning 1,688 meters over the Xunjiang River in Tengxian county, the bridge is the world's largest single-pylon, three-tower suspension bridge with spatial cables, with central tower standing 108.9 meters tall. Additionally, it is the first three-tower suspension bridge with spatial cables spanning over 500 meters in China.

Construction involved the precise installation of 71 steel box girder segments, some weighing up to 443 metric tons. The expressway, stretching 105.3 kilometers between Wuzhou and Yulin, is 98.4-percent complete, with full operation anticipated this year.
