A delegation of young students from Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region visited Kota Kinabalu High School in Sabah, Malaysia, on Feb 8, aiming to promote cultural exchange and mutual understanding between Chinese and Malaysian youth.

Kota Kinabalu High School, founded in 1949, is the largest Chinese-language school in East Malaysia. The Guangxi delegation was immediately captivated by the diverse fruit trees on campus, including durian, passion fruit, and avocado.

The Chinese students took the same classes as students from Kota Kinabalu High School, sharing their interpretations of Chinese poems and discussing their respective cultural traditions and significant holidays.

They also wore their ethnic costumes as they introduced their cultures and cuisine. Students from Kota Kinabalu High School performed traditional dances and songs, while Chinese students presented carefully prepared gifts such as couplets, Fu characters, and embroidered balls.

Over the course of the seven-day trip, the Chinese delegation visited Kuala Lumpur, Sabah, and Kuantan, engaging in deep exchanges with local students and touring schools and universities.
