Educational cooperation at all levels between China and ASEAN has been deepening in recent years, yielding fruitful results in talent cultivation, People's Daily reported on Feb 13.

With 2025 designated as the ASEAN-China Year of People-to-People Exchanges, both sides are expanding their collaborative efforts across all levels of education.

China has built multiple educational platforms with ASEAN since 2023, bringing the number of exchange students between the two sides to more than 175,000. Multiple cooperation projects have encouraged schools at various levels to establish partnerships and expand exchanges.

The launch of the China-ASEAN Digital Education Alliance in August 2023 has created a new platform for cooperation between China and ASEAN, specifically in digital education research, promoting the construction and sharing of quality digital education resources, developing regional digital education standards, improving digital education infrastructure, and enhancing digital education capabilities.

To date, 264 universities and colleges from China and abroad have joined the alliance, offering 300 quality courses in traditional culture, practical skills training, and digital literacy.

The vocational education cooperation is also driving economic growth, while also allowing students to experience different educational systems and teaching styles.

Shi Zhongjun, secretary-general of the ASEAN-China Center, pointed out that vocational education is an important component of China-ASEAN educational cooperation, playing a significant role in promoting employment and entrepreneurship, driving economic and social development, and enhancing people's well-being.
