The import and export freight volume through Youyiguan Port saw record high freight volume and value in 2024, officials of Youyiguan Customs recently announced.
The total freight volume reached 5.51 million metric tons last year, marking a year-on-year increase of 29 percent, while the value of imports and exports rose 12.9 percent to 478 billion yuan ($65.7 billion), ranking first among all ports in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.
Youyiguan Port is the largest land port in China for trade with Vietnam and ASEAN, boasting a unique geographical advantage. The total import and export value to ASEAN countries through Youyiguan Port reached 472.69 billion yuan in 2024, up 13.4 percent year-on-year and accounting for 98.9 percent of the port's total foreign trade value. Specifically, trade with Vietnam increased 17.9 percent to 394.07 billion yuan, accounting for 83.4 percent of the total trade value with ASEAN countries through the port.
The continuous improvement in the facilitation of customs clearance at Youyiguan Port has led to an increase in both the variety and value of goods being imported and exported through the port.
Mechanical and electrical products were the main import and export commodities in 2024, with imports of the products totaling 117.44 billion yuan and exports totaling 240.69 billion yuan, year-on-year increases of 6.1 percent and 37.1 percent, respectively.
