The rail-sea intermodal trains of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor have grown for seven consecutive years, officials of China Railway Nanning Bureau Group announced on Jan 10.
In 2024, the cumulative cargo volume transported reached 960,000 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs), an 11 percent year-on-year increase, setting a new historical record.
To promote infrastructure construction of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, China Railway Nanning Bureau Group has increased the train speed between Qinzhou Port and Qinzhou East Railway Station to 90 kilometers per hour, enhancing the line's throughput capacity by 12.5 percent in 2024.
Additionally, a new cargo line and supporting yard were put into operation at Qinzhou Port East Railway Station, increasing the daily loading and unloading capacity of rail-sea intermodal trains by four trains.
The cargo line's handling capacity at Qinzhou Port East Railway Station has been increased from 10 trains per day in 2023 to 14 in 2024.
As of Jan 9, 2025, the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor rail-sea intermodal trains have expanded their cargo categories to 1,166, covering 73 cities and 156 stations across 18 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities in China and reaching 548 ports in 126 countries and regions worldwide.
