Guangxi's high-speed rail developments enhance regional integration
On July 20, at the construction site of Yulinbei Railway Station, with the precise placement of the final 500-meter-long steel rail, all the rail for the Nanning-Zhuhai High-speed Railway's Nanning-Yulin section has now been laid, meaning that "track connection" has been completed, laying a solid foundation for operation within the year.
The section is expected to open by the end of this year, and the Yulinbei Railway Station is also set to be put into operation soon. Yulin is expected to integrate into the 1.5-hour living circle of Nanning and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, reducing travel time between GBA's core cities.
In recent years, Guangdong and Guangxi have planned to build 12 railway passages, with four already completed, two under construction, and six in the planning stage. This year, Guangxi plans to accelerate construction on the full Nanning-Zhuhai High-speed Railway section and strives to start construction on the Hepu-Zhanjiang Railway as part of a freight railway between Guangdong and Guangxi.
In the future, the Hepu-Zhanjiang, Nanning-Zhuhai, Nanning-Guangzhou, and Guiyang-Guangzhou high-speed railways will form four fast passages from south to north, connecting Guangxi to the GBA.
The flowing freight railway with high capacity between Guangdong and Guangxi will promote the flow of elements, technology transfers, and industrial cooperation between Guangxi and GBA.
