The 18th China-ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) Expo (CAEXPO) will take place both online and offline in Nanning, capital of south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, in September, the organizer has said.

It's the peak season for fruits from ASEAN countries. Workers are busy in packing fruits including durian, mangosteen and coconut in an e-commerce warehouse in Nanning, while a livestreamer selling them online.

Guangxi is seen as the front line and window of China's opening-up and cooperation with ASEAN. For Qin Qingxian, an e-commerce warehouse manager, China-ASEAN Expo has helped improve the quality of imported durians.

This year's expo will help expand the platform functions of the expo. It will also further serve the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP).

In 2020, trade between China and the ASEAN reached 684.6 billion U.S. dollars, bucking the trend to post a year-on-year increase of nearly 6.7 percent.

China has remained the ASEAN's largest trading partner for 12 consecutive years since 2008 and in 2020, the ASEAN also became China's largest trading partner.
