Sea-rail intermodal transportation rapidly grows from Jan-Aug

A total of 2,643 sea-rail intermodal trains were operated on the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor in the western region from January to August, increasing by 96.4 percent year-on-year, surpassing the whole number of trains conducted in 2019, China Railway Nanning Group Co Ltd announced on Sept 9.
China Railway Nanning Group Co Ltd has been fully integrated into the construction and development of the land-sea trade corridor, launching initiatives like stabilizing prices, reducing fees, as well as lowering logistics costs for companies.
The company has shortened the interval for several non-stop trains, such as the train running from East Qinzhou Port Station to Lanzhou's Dongchuan in Gansu province and the train running from Liuzhou South Station to East Qinzhou Port Station.
Efforts have been made in developing modern logistics as the company has pushed forward the construction of logistic bases. Freight yards in areas including Wuzhou's Jianghua and Maoming have been undergoing renovation to expand their handling capacity.
Currently, the Jianghua freight yard has been put into operation with higher working efficiency, laying a solid foundation for the growth of sea-rail intermodal transportation.
The company will further push forward the projects for expanding capacity, such as the electrification transformation of the east line of Qinzhou Port's container transport route, to offer high-quality support in railway transportation for Guangxi's dual-circulation development pattern.
