This year, the CPPCC National Committee members are continuing to focus on the overall goal of social stability and longterm security of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, and conduct in-depth investigations at the grassroots level. Their proposals have covered issues like poverty alleviation, education and medical reform, national unity development, as well as ecological civilization construction, which are closely related to the work and life of people of all ethnic groups.
Members of ethnic groups, such as the Mulam, Maonan, and Jing, have focused on speeding up the economic and social development of ethnic minorities and ethnic areas, promoting the common prosperity and development of all ethnic groups, as well as accelerating the comprehensive construction of a well-off society in ethnic areas.
Xia Ning, a CPPCC National Committee member and the deputy director of the Guangxi Health Commission, has been paying great attention to the impact of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic. She has recommended focusing on the establishment of gerontology departments or outpatient clinics at county and municipal general hospitals, as well as strengthening general practitioners in community health service centers to promote the improvement of medical and health services for seniors.
Housing problems are also an important focus, as two members have put forward proposals covering different aspects of the issue.
