As the first European country to become a special partner of the China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO), Poland held a promotion conference and the China-Polish Entrepreneur Roundtable in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region on Sept 22.

Poland has opened a national pavilion at the 16th CAEXPO, which is currently taking place in Nanning. The national pavilion is also a celebration of   the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Poland and the People's Republic of China. The two countries have deepened economic, tourism, and regional cooperation and interconnection over the past 70 years. In 2018, China-Poland bilateral trade volume reached $24.58 billion.

Wojciech Zajączkowski, ambassador of Poland to China, noted at the promotion conference that major enterprises in Poland have developed advantageous industries, such as food, chemicals, artificial intelligence, and biotechnology, which can meet the needs of the Chinese and ASEAN markets.

Marek Kloczko, vice president of the Polish Chamber of Commerce, said that CAEXPO has established a new platform for Poland to conduct exchanges with ASEAN countries, which will help Polish enterprises integrate into the Belt and Road construction, as well as attract investment partners and create business opportunities.

Qin Rupei, vice chairman of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, said that Guangxi will promote cooperation with countries along the Belt and Road to bring new business opportunities to Poland to open up emerging markets due to the establishment of the China (Guangxi) Free Trade Pilot Zone.

In addition, four cooperation agreements were signed at the roundtable between Chinese and Polish enterprises.
