Business leaders, officials explore deep cooperation in Nanning

More than 300 business association heads, entrepreneurs, government officials from China and ASEAN countries conducted dialogue and exchanges at the fourth China-ASEAN Chamber of Commerce Leaders Summit held in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, on Sept 20.

Sponsored by the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, and the China Overseas Friendship Association, the summit aims to explore and establish a long-term mechanism for dialogue and exchanges between leaders of the China and ASEAN countries, as well as promote regional economic and social development.

Fang Chunming, vice-chairman of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, said at the summit that Guangxi attaches great importance to strengthening ties with the chambers of commerce of ASEAN countries. The region has established a specialized agency this year for attracting investment, establishing a project tracking and promotion mechanism, and promoting the sharing of resources, cooperation and development.

Wei Jiaxiang, president of the Malaysia Chinese Association (MCA), expressed that the MCA has promoted cooperation of bilateral projects, mobilized enterprises to participate in the construction of the China-Malaysia Qinzhou Industrial Park and the Malaysia-China Kuantan Industrial Park, and strengthened cooperation in fields of cross-border labor services, cross-border e-commerce, and tourism.

Li Feilie, president of the General Association of Guangxi Entrepreneurs, said the association has established contacts with chambers of commerce in 25 countries and regions through exchanges at the summit, and many companies have invested in countries such as Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Brunei, Myanmar, etc.
