A special interactive session was held in Nanning, capital of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, on Sept 20 to boost private sector investment by Chinese companies in ASEAN countries.

Over 70 Chinese private firms shared insights with economic and commercial counselors at Chinese embassies in ASEAN countries to explore new investment direction in ASEAN and seek high-quality development.

Addressing the event, Qiu Xiaoping, vice-chairman of All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, said the ASEAN countries have become China's important partners in the Belt and Road Initiative as they have continuously deepened cooperation with China in areas of transportation, energy, technology, finance and trade. Investment from China's private companies in ASEAN countries keeps climbing in scale and continues to expand, he added.

Qiu said the economic and commercial counselors, with information resources on investment environment, policies, industrial features, risks and cooperation needs in ASEAN countries, will offer effective guidance for the Chinese companies to tap ASEAN market.

During the conference, the economic and commercial counselors at Chinese embassies in Singapore, Indonesia and Cambodia talked with company representatives on new directions, new business models as well as problems might encounter while investing in ASEAN.
