Based on its geographic advantage of bordering ASEAN countries, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region has been further deepening its international transportation cooperation, improving the level of international road transport facilitation, as well as promoting the full coverage of shipping and civil aviation networks.
Guangxi connects with the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area in the east and the Beibu Gulf in the south. It is also the only region in China that is connected through the land and sea with ASEAN countries.
Lu Xiaoming, deputy director of the Guangxi Transportation Department, said that Guangxi and Vietnam have held the China-Vietnam International Road Transport Annual Conference and reached a comprehensive consensus on cooperation in all areas of transportation, especially on investment cooperation in transportation infrastructure.
To date, two cross-border self-driving routes between Guangxi and Vietnam have opened, and drivers taking these routes can experience a convenient customs clearance inspection mode of advanced declaration, customs clearance by reservation, and inspection on arrival.
Guangxi Beibu Gulf Ports have a global shipping network covering more than 200 ports in more than 100 countries and regions, including international transportation with 47 ports in seven ASEAN countries.
In addition, the China-EU container cross-border direct train also links Guangxi with Vietnam and Guangxi Airport has a flight network that basically covers the major cities of ASEAN, with passenger throughput of its ASEAN routes reaching 1.1 million per year.
