Wuzhou makes new progress in Eastern Integration

Wuzhou, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, enjoyed stable economic growth in the first half of the year, with its GDP and fixed asset investments rising by 5.3 percent and 10 percent respectively, as well as total foreign trade value increasing by 22 percent year-on-year.
Wuzhou has adhered to the Eastern Integration Strategy in a comprehensive manner. The city has accelerated the Guigang-Wuzhou waterway project and accelerated the operation of the Nanning-Guangzhou Railway. It has set up strategic cooperation relationships with Jinan University and other academic institutions, introducing more than 20 talent projects. The main leaders of the city's investment departments have carried out 671 negotiations and signed 70 contract projects with a contracted amount of 48.97 billion yuan ($6.84 billion).
The remanufacturing industry demonstration base successfully attracted 16 remanufacturing companies, forming a complete automobile parts remanufacturing industry chain. The Ceramic Industrial Park in Tengxian county has now introduced 21 ceramic enterprises and 10 supporting enterprises, becoming the leading area for undertaking the transfer of ceramic industry.
In the first half of the year, Wuzhou's transportation indicators maintained high growth. Road freight volume increased by 9.4 percent, waterway freight volume increased by 12.3 percent, container throughput increased by 28 percent, and passenger throughput of Xijiang Airport exceeded 10 million.
The city has also optimized its business environment, such as improving approval methods, reducing administrative approval materials and steps, as well as shortening approval time.
