Located in northeast Wuming county, South China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, Daming Mountain Scenic Spot spans Wuming county, Shanglin county, Mashan county, and Binyang county. It is 76 kilometers away from Nanning, capital city of Guangxi. The mountains are 68 kilometers long and 23 kilometers wide, with the main peak reaching 1,760 meters above sea level, known as the first peak in central and south Guangxi.
Daming Mountain is a national nature reserve with a diversity of mountain forest ecosystems, as well as rare and endangered flora and fauna resources as the main protection objects. The total area of the reserve is about 17,000 hectares and the forest coverage rate is 98.9 percent. According to the latest measurement, air anion content in Daming Mountain Scenic Spot exceeded 1000/cm3, with an average content of 70,000/cm3 and a maximum of 190,000/cm3, which makes the place a veritable natural oxygen bar.
The Daming Mountain area is an important cradle of Zhuang ethnic culture. According to research, the ancient capital of ancient Luoyue established by the Zhuang ancestors was located in the south of Daming Mountain. It is now the site of many tombs of the Shang (c. 16th century-11th century BC) and the Zhou (c. 11th century-256 BC) dynasties, the Warring States period (475-221 B.C.), as well as the birthplace of Longmu culture.
