Fangchenggang in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region is taking the opportunity of the 12th Guangxi (Fangchenggang) Garden and Horticulture Expo project to accelerate the establishment of its national garden city.

Fangchenggang is a full-seascape eco-bay city on the Beibu Gulf. In 2012, the city successfully built Guangxi garden city and used it as a basis to officially propose the goal of creating a national garden city in July 2017.

The city has continuously expanded the urban green volume and upgraded the greening level, building a number of urban roads such as Dongwan Avenue and Xiwan Avenue, as well as urban parks such as Xianrenshan Park, Taohuawan Park and Fubo Park.

At present, the green coverage rate of the built-up area of Fangchenggang is 36.25 percent and the per capita green park area is 24.33 square meters. The indicators have met the reporting conditions for a national garden city.

The 12th Guangxi Gardening and Horticulture Expo was organized by Fangchenggang. The Fangchenggang Garden Expo Park is located on the west side of Jinhuacha Avenue in the downtown area, with the planned total land area of about 3,287 mu (219.13 hectares) and a total estimated investment of 1.07 billion yuan ($153.83 million).
