Fangchenggang
Fangchenggang is the only full-seascape eco-bay city in the Beibu Gulf. It has the world's only national-level golden camellia reserve and the largest and most typical bay mangrove forest in China. Fangchenggang enjoys the reputation of being China's oxygen capital, China's longevity town, and the Chinese egret town. The excellent annual air quality rate in the city is 100 percent. It ranks 19th among the best city for seniors, and 36th among the national livable cities in China.
Fangchenggang is the most convenient economic and cultural exchange and cooperation platform between China and ASEAN. It is connected with the ASEAN in terms of geography, humanities and folk customs. It has a long friendship with ASEAN countries. The China-Vietnam Border Trade and Tourism Expo, Maritime International Dragon Boat Festival, and the Ha Festival of the Jing Ethnic Group have become important platforms for the exchanges between China and ASEAN. Fangchenggang has successfully hosted international activities such as the China – Southeast Asia People to People High-Level Dialogue and the "Charming ASEAN·Going to China" cultural tour. Many enterprises in Fangchenggang have set up offices and investment companies in ASEAN. The revenue of annual export of goods and customs ASEAN account for over 50 percent of that in Guangxi. The city has formed the "Fangchenggang Channel" of China-ASEAN cooperation.
Currently, Fangchenggang is accelerating the construction of the Dongxing National Key Development and Opening-up Experimental Zone, Cross-border Economic Cooperation Zone, Border Financial Comprehensive Reform Experimental Zone, and Pilot Area of New Open Economic System and striving to build a new pattern of open cooperation. The city is also promoting the construction of a beautiful bay city, the happiest coastal city, the famous coastal cultural city, and the city of eco-civilization.
